The AuburnSports.com Rundown

Bryan Matthews, Christian Clemente, Brian Stultz and Jay G. Tate reconvene to review some big stuff happening in the Auburn universe.

B-Matt wants to start on a positive note, so the guys discuss Auburn's 70-55 win over the LSU Tigers. Auburn led 18-1 early and essentially cruised to a straightforward win over a previously undefeated team. There were many strong-ass plays made by the Tigers — including Walker Kessler, Jabari Smith and Al Flanigan.

This team is a championship contender.

The football team is not. Auburn fell to Houston in the Birmingham Bowl. The biggest takeaway here probably is that TJ Finley is not a starting SEC quarterback and that Auburn's recruiting on the offensive side of the ball has not been strong. Bryan Harsin and his staff are aiming to change that immediately.

Good news: Colby Wooden and Derick Hall will be back.

Bryan Matthews, Christian Clemente, Brian Stultz and Jay G. Tate reconvene to review a relatively successful Early Signing Day, which saw Auburn's class leap from No. 41 to No. 13 in the Rivals rankings. What went right? How did Auburn flip Robert Woodyard from Alabama? What kept the Tigers outside the Top 10?

Also, Auburn officially acknowledged the hire of Austin Davis as offensive coordinator. Is that a good thing or a bad thing for Auburn?

Bo Nix is going to play for the Ducks next season. Interesting.

The Fightin' Pearls are 10-1 and have another big test Wednesday, this time against the Racers of Murray State University.

Bryan Matthews, Christian Clemente, Brian Stultz, Jay G. Tate and special guest J-Head from The Bunker join forces to preview what could be a surprisingly strong Early Signing Day for the Auburn Tigers. The guys take a gander at what's left with less than 24 hours to go — and which players they think Auburn will land.

If everything goes according to plan, Bryan Harsin may finish the day with a Top 10 class.

The guys also reveal the Tigers' secret weapon in recruiting, Bo Nix's departure, Tank Bigsby's decision to stay, Austin Davis as the next offensive coordinator and the NCAA finally clearing the 2017 Chuck Person Situation off the table.

Bryan Matthews, Christian Clemente, Brian Stultz and Jay G. Tate join forces to review the latest from Auburn's search for a new offensive coordinator. The situation with Zak Hill from Arizona State has soured, so who is the next man up? Could Bryan Harsin act as his own O.C. and instead search for a quarterbacks coach? It's possible.

The guys also ponder the upcoming Birmingham Bowl showdown with Houston. Which players will opt out and which players won't?

Christian and Bryan break down a pretty interesting week in football recruiting and keep open the possibility of a surprisingly strong finish from this first-year staff.

Also, the Fightin' Pearls are progressing nicely.
